IBTS is currently recruiting for a Grant Writer who will, under general direction, facilitates research, development, review, and editing of departmental and/or institutional grant proposals across multiple IBTS business units; conducts basic research for potential funding sources and maintains databases; provides grant research and writing assistance to external partners as necessary; supports administration in developing proposals.

  • Facilitates, reviews, and edits grant proposals; conducts library and electronic research; compiles data; inputs and retrieves data via computer.
  • Conducts research on potential funding sources; maintains contact with external agencies.
  • Works closely with staff in developing and transforming ideas into grant proposals; interacts with constituencies involved in grant-funding activities.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of particular areas involved in identifying and soliciting grants; may collaborate with various internal departments.
  • May coordinate project activities; prepares and processes letters and correspondence, presentation materials, and manuscripts; maintains funding opportunity databases, activity tracking system, and related confidential files.
  • Assists in the formulation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with awarded grants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Knowledge of grant guidelines for governmental and non-governmental funding agencies
  • Excellent writing and research skills
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of performing complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to listen and develop information into grant proposals
  • Codify ideas into coherently written text
  • Work collaboratively in various disciplines
  • Operate personal computer, with various software programs
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Pay attention to detail and maintain accurate records

Education / Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in related field
  • Solid familiarity with grant writing and proposal work
  • 2 to 4+ years of experience supporting grant writing for proposals

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain stationary in a stationary position while in the performance of your duties.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Frequently moving stationary materials around the office weighing up to 10 pounds.
