    This position is part of a Disaster Recovery team. We are not first responders, but when natural disasters strike (e.g.., hurricanes, earthquakes, flood waters, tornados, fires, etc.) our team travels to the disaster area as part of the recovery process to help restore the communities. Our primary focus is working with homeowners in the restoration of their houses and property.


    This position will begin as an “on-call/as-needed” basis, with strong probability of converting to a regular, full-time position with full employee benefits which include (but are not limited to) medical, prescription, dental, vision, FSA, 401k with employer matching, paid holidays, and paid leave.


    We are looking for individuals who are willing, able, and readily available to be a part of this team, who can report for work and travel on short notice to disaster sites and remain engaged in the recovery efforts for varying periods of time. Longer assignments will include rotations for travel back and forth between their home and the disaster sites.


    Position Summary:


    The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting Project Managers (PM) in coordinating the activities of a project to ensure cost, schedule, document control and quality standards are met. Under the direction of the PM, the Assistant Project Manager is expected to take on any/all tasks assigned.




    • Assist the Project Manager in all phases and aspects of the project.
    • Provide support to Field Staff.
    • Prepare and assist with pre-installation meetings.
    • Review owner, vendor and sub-contractor contracts and become familiar with terms & conditions.
    • Distribute all short interval and overall project schedules. Ensure subcontractors have the most up to date scopes of work. Assist PM in the development of the overall project schedule.
    • Work to obtain all necessary permits as requested by the PM.
    • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to become completely familiar with the project and identify lead times and critical path items.
    • Complete evaluations/comparisons of bids, scope review, and complete buyout as requested by PM
    • Develop a project Submittal Log and obtain all necessary approval(s), including from design professionals.
    • Manage and track said logs and ensure all submittals are processed promptly.
    • Ensure contracts, insurance, and bonds are current and received before subcontractor performs any work on site. Follow up on collection of all non-received documents and escalate any issues to the PM.
    • Prepare and record all project meeting agendas, reference material and associated attachments as directed by the PM.
    • Attend project meetings as requested by PM and keep detailed meeting minutes for publishing to project team.
    • With direction from a Project Manager draft, manage and track Issues Log with all issues pertaining to project and distribute it to all team members.
    • Draft, submit, and track all RFI’s and distribute to all team members as appropriate.
    • Review project logs (Issues, RFI’s, Submittals, PAA’s) with Superintendent on a weekly basis.
    • Pursue and monitor submittals and track deliveries of materials. Verify all submittal conformity to plans & specifications.
    • Collect daily reports, weekly project pictures and safety documentation from superintendent. Review for completeness and include in project documentation. Inform PM of deficiencies.
    • Collect and distribute coordination drawings from appropriate design professionals and subcontractors. Review drawings with PM and Superintendent. Set up coordination meetings for PM to chair.
    • Collect subcontractor changes for review by the PM.
    • Execute payment applications.
    • Gather necessary facts, track and record information, present it in report format when necessary.
    • Adhere to and assist in the enforcement of all compliance associated with each type of the project.
    • Complete quantity take-offs as requested by estimating and PM.
    • Review and code invoices in the internal and external tracking system.
    • Check for accuracy and compare to cost to complete forecast.



    • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. A college degree is highly desirable. A degree in construction management is a strong plus.
    • 3-5 years of related construction experience. 
    • Knowledgeable in specific field of management, administration, organization, and/or construction
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite
    • Experience with a management software
    • Organized, detail-oriented

    IBTS covers travel expenses, i.e., travel, per diem (food and lodging). Where reimbursements are provided, they will be provided directly to the individual and in a timely fashion.
