    Introduction:

     

    This position is part of a Disaster Recovery team.   We are not first responders, but when natural disasters strike (e.g.., hurricanes, earthquakes, flood waters, tornados, fires, etc.) our team travels to the disaster area as part of the recovery process to help restore the communities. Our primary focus is working with homeowners in the restoration of their houses and property.

     

    This position will begin as an “on-call/as-needed” basis, with strong probability of converting to a regular, full-time position with full employee benefits which include (but are not limited to) medical, prescription, dental, vision, FSA, 401k with employer matching, paid holidays, and paid leave.

     

    We are looking for individuals who are willing, able, and readily available to be a part of this team, who can report for work and travel on short notice to disaster sites and remain engaged in the recovery efforts for varying periods of time. Longer assignments will include rotations for travel back and forth between their home and the disaster sites.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Interpret the program construction standards and specifications to the designated team.
    • Write and implement program policy and code compliance.
    • Timely and efficient scheduling of multiple inspectors among several locations.
    • Review and meet the requirements of the work product submitted by the Assessor and determine whether the work is program and code compliant.
    • Detailed daily reporting of inspection results in an electronic cloud based server network.
    • Verbally identify specific non-compliant conditions from their team.
    • Prepare weekly and daily reports of inspection activity at each assigned project location.
    • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the client/developer and the builder/contractor.
    • Monitor the pace of assessments and projecting the level of inspection effort required form their team as work progresses.

    Qualifications

    • A technical degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or building construction.
    • Other technical certifications and the ability to work in other project areas are a plus.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Managing new and retrofit residential and commercial building construction and/or inspections.
    • Level 3 certification in the Xactimate versions 27 or higher.
    • Computer literacy and the operating knowledge of Microsoft Suites, including Visio and Project.
    • Capability to perform QA/QC functions on tablet based hardware using a cloud based network.
    • Experienced in the application of the International Residential Code (IRC) and the International Building Code (IBC).
    • Experienced in enforcing the requirements of the Program Minimum Property Standards (MPS) and Housing Quality Standards (HQS) to their designated team of Assessors.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in clear, grammatical English, both verbally and in writing.

     

    Travel:

     

    IBTS covers travel expenses, i.e., travel, per diem (food and lodging). Where reimbursements are provided, they will be provided directly to the individual and in a timely fashion.
