  • Responsibilities

    Immediate hire for Special Inspectors, Field Inspectors, Field Engineers. You will be performing inspections on new construction, renovation, alteration and enlargements projects throughout the NYC metro area. Additional certifications a plus! Additional openings available Inspectors with ICC Certifications in all disciplines. We are a stable, well respected  firm with many high-profile projects throughout the NY Metro Area.

    Responsibilities

    • Observe work for conformance with plans and specifications of drawings, design documents and building codes.
    • Site inspections of Masonry, Rebar or other areas of certification
    • Complete daily field inspection reports and identify/report discrepancies
    • Provide quality-assurance support to the assigned projects to ensure product meets customer quality requirements

    Qualifications

    Certifications: Must have current certification in one or more areas listed

    • ICC Welding
    • CWI – Certified Welding Inspector
    • ICC Steel Reinforcement
    • ACI Level II or Concrete Construction
    • Not required, but preferred if you have additional ICC Certifications (Soils, Structural Steel Welding, Structural Steel Bolting, Reinforced Concrete)
    • Not required, but a PLUS if you are Master Special Inspector

    Requirements:

    • 2-5 years construction, inspection experience
    • Not required, but a plus for bachelor’s Civil Engineering or related education
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Self-disciplined and highly motivated
    • Good decision-making skills
    • Ability to read, interpret engineering drawings and specifications
    • Must be able to travel throughout 5 boroughs of NYC
    • Perform Special Inspections as per ASTM.
    • Read construction plans, specifications, and designs.
    • Communicate with Project Manager to determine the specific requirements of work orders, scope of work, deliverables, schedule, and budget.
    • Ensure that the services provided are performed in accordance with the project requirements.
    • Prepare reports.
    • Ability to understand and read complex design and fabrication plans and specifications.
    • Willingness to obtain additional certifications
    • Reliable means of transportation and valid drivers license required.
    • Familiarity with construction industry codes.
    • Communicating with the Project Manager to determine the specific requirements of a given work order, including the scope of work, deliverables, schedule, and budget for a particular assignment;
    • Communication with the Project Manager, fabrication shops, contractors, and other third parties to resolve schedule issues;
    • Ensure that the services provided are performed in accordance with the project requirements and contract with the client;
    • Generate and process timesheets, billing reports, and inspection reports in an expeditious and thorough manner, complying with all applicable deadlines. All reports must be submitted typewritten using Microsoft Word/Adobe Acrobat and must be electronically transmitted to the Project Manager;
    • Ability to multi-task and properly execute multiple simultaneous assignments without sacrificing efficiency or quality of the work
