Responsibilities

IBTS is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who is ready to take the next step in their career, contribute to meaningful financial operations, and grow within a collaborative environment.

 

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint, a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, and strong technical skills—especially in Excel.

 

This position requires an in-office presence in our headquarters office located in Ashburn, VA.  There is potential for this position to adjust to a hybrid arrangement at a future date, with working remote two days a week.

 

Key Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):

  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Post recurring and adjusting journal entries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and post cash receipts.
  • Support the preparation process for annual financial audits.
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
  • Support the tracking and accounting of fixed assets.
  • Assist in recording expenses and journal entries for subsidiaries.
  • Work within Deltek Costpoint to execute accounting functions effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate financial records and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
